This iconic hilltop walk offers stunning panoramic views over Winchester and the surrounding countryside. Follow winding paths to the summit for a peaceful escape and fantastic photo opportunities. At the base, reward yourself with coffee and cake at the much-loved Handlebar Café – a relaxed cycling café perfect for refuelling after your walk.

Part of the historic Camino de Santiago network passes through nearby Winchester. The English leg — known as the St James’ Way — is a waymarked pilgrimage route with traditional scallop shell markers and a milestone in the city’s Hyde Abbey area. Guests can explore sections of this historic path, combining scenic countryside walking with centuries-old pilgrimage tradition.
